Susan Milner2020-07-09The death of a loved one is so traumatic and overwhelming. When my husband died I really didn’t know where to start. I phoned Selsdon and district funeral Service and spoke with Mick. He was so kind and helpful and guided me through the process of organising my husbands funeral. ( Luckily this was just prior to lockdown). When my husband knew that he was dying, he wanted to plan as much of his funeral as he could and spoke with Mick and Gary. They answered his questions helping him to understand what would happen, and ensured that all his wishes were granted. The funeral service was a wonderful celebration of my husbands life. So many of our family and friends came up to me afterwards to say what a lovely service. I cannot thank Mick and Gary enough - they made a really tough time so much easier.

They were there whenever I had any questions or doubts and their natural empathy was something I will never forget. Planning a funeral for the first time ever could have been extremely daunting and stressful, but they simplified the process for me, in between drinking endless cups of tea. On the day of the funeral, they were not just ‘strangers or funeral directors’, they felt like old friends. Special mention to Jackie too, she was a star. If you want good old fashioned service with a company that really does care, this is the one for you.

We used the services of Selsdon & District Funeral Services for our lovely mother in June 2018 and they were absolutely FAB. What gentlemen! Gary was our main contact and went to sooo much trouble in ensuring that everything went perfectly and his colleague, Michael, who played second fiddle was 'on it' when Gary wasn't around. The had the perfect mix of respect, humour, forward thinking and personality to ease the whole horrid process. If you want a funeral where your loved one gets the dignity they deserve, well here are your men!
